911 a reforma

Foram dois anos curtindo o carro do praticamente do jeito que comprei.
Fizemos muitas coisas juntos, andamos na pista fizemos as 1000 Milhas Brasileiras, e muitos passeios.

It's been two years enjoying the car basically the same way as I bought it.
We've done a lot of things together. We raced at a track. We've done the Brazilian Historic 1000 Miles  Rally and lots of rides.

Então resolvi dar uma mudada. Aprofundar o estilo esportivo, dar um look clean e um interior lightweight, aproveitar e tirar os pontos de ferrugem.

A primeira mudança foi a tampa traseira que foi substituída pela icônica Ducktail dos RS.

Then I decided to make a change. Go deeper in the sport style giving a clean look and a lightwheight interior. Taking advantage of the changes remove the rusty spots.

The first change was the rear lid that was replaced by the iconic Ducktail from the RS.

E o carro foi para a oficina Galpone para a desmontagem, funilaria e pintura. 

A duvida segue sendo se vou adesivar no estilo "racing" ou deixo todo branco. Gostaria de fazer como o SC dos ralis africanos. Mas não me convenci da relação custo x beneficio.

The car went to Galpone Shop for disassembly, body work and painting.

I'm still in doubt if wrap in "racing" style or leave in plain white. I'd like to do like the SC's from the african rallies. Still not conveiced of the cost x benefit ratio.

Acima estão o original fotografado no Museu da Porsche e uma "tribute" feito nos EUA.
Outras inspirações foram, o carro pilotado por Walter Rohrl e um projeto da Tech9 com os maravilhosos faróis auxiliares da Cibié.
Outra resolução importante é, que o carro teria um roll cage , um Santo Antonio" bem no estilo de competição.

Above are the original pictured in Porsche Museum and a "tribute" done in the U.S.
Other inspirations came from the car driven by Waltre Rohrl and a project from Tech 9 with the gorgeous Cibié auxiliary lights.
Another important definition is that the car would have a roll cage in competition style.

Reuni varias referencias que gosto e que foram inspiração no projeto como as que se vê abaixo para fazer o interior do carro.

I gethered many references I like to inspire the project as the ones below to do the interior.

Voltando ao Galpone foi assim que o carro chegou lá. Na verdade nem precisava da reforma, mas vai entender a cabeça de fanático...

Back to Galpone Shop, that's the way the car got there. In fact it didn't need a rebuild, but no one can understand a fanatic head...

Começamos desmontando o carro, e checando por pontos de ferrugem. A essa altura também foi decidido que eliminaríamos os furos da antena e dos piscas nos para-lamas.
O radio, a antena e o alto-falante não voltariam para o carro.

We started disasembling the car and checking for the rust spots. At this point it was decided to close the antenna hole and the side repeaters on the fenders.
Radio, antenna and speakers wouldn't return to the car.

A funilaria eliminou os pontos de ferrugem, sendo que o principal era na saída da mangueira do teto-solar.

The bodywork removed the rust spots. The main one was in the water exit hoose from the sun roof.

Resolvidos os problemas de ferrugem, começamos a pintura.

Rust issues done. Started the painting.

Antes de ir para a instalação do Santo Antonio, a parte mecânica recebeu up-grades e peças novas:

Before installing the roll cage the mechanical received up-grades and new parts:

A alavanca de cambio recebeu novos embuchamentos

Shift stick new bushings

Novos cabos de embreagem

New clutch cables

Uma alavanca de curso reduzido da original da Porsche

Shorts shift from Porsche original parts.

Os carburadores Weber foram totalmente revisados com um kit de reparo novo

The Weber carburators were revised and recived a new repair kit.

Instalamos pinças novas, pastilhas EBC e mangueiras aeroquip.

Installed new brake calipers , EBC pads and aeroquip hose.

E um conjunto novo de embreagem.

Além disso revisamos as válvulas, checamos a compressão que estava muito boa, e tudo foi remontado no carro para a instalação do Santo Antonio no Dudu em Interlagos.

Besides revised the valves, checked the compression that was very good. The car was then reassembled to install the roll cage in Dudu's shop close to Interlagos race track.

Este foi o primeiro esboço que fiz, mas no final ainda recebeu mais um reforço

The first draft I made it myself but at the end it received more reinforcements.

Depois desta etapa o Santo Antonio recebeu a pintura preta e o carro seguiu para o tapeceiro Abreu.

After the roll cage received a black paint the car went to the Abreu's uphlostery shop.

Os bancos traseiros e as laterais foram eliminados

Rear seats and side covers deleted.

E os tapetes trocados pelos lightwheight.

Iniciamos a remontagem, e além do novo carpete recebeu as laterais de portas estilo RS.

The carpets were changed for the lightwheight.

Reassembly started and besides the new carpet new RS style side covers were installed.

Esses insulfilm, mandei tirar. Ajuda a filtrar o sol mas ficou feio. Muito esverdeado.

Removed the tinted windows film that helped reduce the sun light but it was ugly. Too greenish.

A luz de mapas da Hella foi instalada no Santo Antonio.

The Hella map light was installed on the roll cage.

Instalei também novas borrachas no para-brisa dianteiro e traseiro.

O motor voltou ao seu lugar

Engine back to its place.

O escape feito todo em aço inox foi feito no Tico Escapamentos, e ficou com um som mais abafado, comparado com o escandaloso barulho que fazia antes.

Exhaust was done in inox steel in Tico's shop. The sound got more muffled comared to the scandall of the previous one.

Os faróis chegaram. São reproduções dos CIBIÉ que mencionei acima. Os originais são impossíveis de achar e custam uma fortuna. Não que esses sejam baratos... E as capas já estão encomendadas.

Tha auxiliary lights came in. They are reproductions from the CIBIÉ I mentioned above. The originals are impossible to find and cost a small fortune. Not that hese ones are cheap... And the covers are already ordered. 

Na suspensão os amortecedores foram recalibrados, instalamos um facão regulável e buchas novas.

In the suspension department the shocks were recalibrated it was installed a new (facão ???) and new bushings.

A instalação dos faróis Cibié. Foram feitos no Edu Eletrotec, onde também foi instalado o farol de neblina traseiro. O Edu também fez  uma revisão elétrica geral, trocando o relê de ré, o sensor do velocímetro, fundamental no rali; os comandos dos vidros, o motor do ventilador e o desembaçador traseiro.

Installation of the Cibié lights done by Edu Eletrotec where the rear fog light was also installed. Edu made an extensive revision changing the reverse relay, speedometer sensor fundmental in rallies. he also replaced the window switches, the ventilator fan and rear defrost.

Os cintos de quatro pontos também foi instalado, usando a furação original. E estou aguardando os bancos conha. Gostaria de instalar os Sparco Sprint, mas estão em falta... :(
Os bancos da Shutt estão no mercado, mas não sei se caem bem.

Four point seatbelts were installed as well using the original fix points.
I'm awaiting the new bucket seats. I'd like to put the Sparco Sprint but they are sold out...:(
The Shutt are availble but I don't know if the fit well.
